In the afternoon of November 27th local time, President Wang Lei and his delegation were graciously invited to the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York. During this visit, they engaged in cordial discussions with Education Counselor Yu Yougen and New York State Student and Scholar Affairs Director Lin Yu. Wang Lei provided an overview of the school's current development status and ongoing celebration activities. Additionally, he presented a comprehensive report on the operational dynamics and reform measures implemented at the Trine Engineering Institute. Yu Yougen acknowledged the effectiveness of Sino-foreign cooperative education at our school. Emphasizing the pivotal role of educational exchange and cooperation in Sino-U.S. relations, Yu encouraged our school to proactively broaden collaboration areas. Furthermore, he expressed a commitment to supporting our school in opening a new chapter of Sino-U.S. educational exchange and cooperation.

On the morning of the 28th, Wang Lei and the delegation received an invitation to visit the University of St. Francis. Subsequently, fruitful exchanges and discussions ensued with key figures such as Executive Vice President Reza, Director of International Affairs Tim, Director of Overseas Studies and Global Affairs Daniel, and Director of the Institute of Global Affairs Olivia. The discussions centered around various cooperation areas and specific matters, culminating in the signing of a letter of intent for inter-school cooperation.

Guided by Zhou Tinghua, Administrative Assistant of the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General, they delved into a comprehensive understanding of the talent cultivation mechanisms within international organizations. The delegation gained profound insights into the United Nations' 17 sustainable development goals, with a particular emphasis on the goal of high-quality education. Wang Lei affirmed our school's commitment to actively engage in diverse United Nations education sustainable development projects, contributing significantly to the promotion of global development.
29日,王磊一行应邀访问了特莱恩大学。上午,在特莱恩大学机械工程学院院长Webber、电气和计算机工程学院院长Sharma的陪同下,参观了机械工程实验室、电气和计算机工程实验室。并与特莱恩大学校长John Shannon、副校长Keirsten Eberts、David Colbert、学术部主任Brittni Heiden、高级学术总监Joshua Pranger、全球事务部主任Jenson Jiang亲切座谈。Shannon校长对我校到访表示热烈欢迎,介绍了特莱恩大学的教学模式及办学特色,希望通过优化合作办学,拓展两校更多领域的实质性合作和可持续交流。王磊介绍了我校的发展历程和办学理念,着重就特莱恩工学院的运行现状进行了详细介绍。双方就合作办学的教师派遣、课程融合、师生交流、研究生联培、“3+1”项目等具体内容和相关事项进行了深入商谈。两校在育人理念和过程方面高度一致,两校校长都坚定表示将一如既往地支持校际合作交流,积极推进合作办学走深走实,共同致力将特莱恩工学院办优办强。
On the 29th, Wang Lei and his delegation received an invitation to visit the Trine University. In the morning, they were accompanied by Webber, the Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at the Trine University, and Sharma, the Dean of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Together, they toured the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory and the Electrical and Computer Engineering Laboratory.


Following the laboratory visits, they engaged in cordial discussions with key representatives from the Trine University, including John Shannon, the President, Keirsten Eberts, David Colbert, Vice Presidents, Executive Director of Academic Operations, Brittni Heiden, Senior Academic Director, Joshua Pranger, and Director of Global Partnerships, Jenson Jiang. President Shannon extended a warm welcome to our school's delegation and provided a comprehensive overview of the teaching model and characteristics of the Trine University. Expressing a desire to enhance collaborative efforts, he aimed to optimize cooperative education and broaden substantive cooperation and sustainable exchanges across various fields. Wang Lei reciprocated by introducing the development process and educational philosophy of our school. He provided a detailed overview of the current operational status of the Trine Engineering Institute. Subsequently, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions covering specific topics such as teacher dispatch, curriculum integration, teacher-student exchanges, graduate joint training, and the "3+1" project for cooperative education. Notably, there was a high degree of consistency in the educational philosophies and processes of both institutions. The Presidents of both schools expressed their firm commitment to supporting inter-school cooperation and exchange. They pledged to actively promote the deepening and strengthening of cooperative education, working collaboratively to improve and fortify the Trine Engineering Institute.


下午,在计算机信息技术系主任Wendy Yagodinski、校企合作创新项目执行院长Jason Blume和Jenson Jiang的陪同下,王磊一行参观了XR实验室、AI/CFD实验室、创新制造实验室、商学院虚拟高尔夫球实验室,以及各学院教室、教师工作室、学生宿舍、体育场馆及其他教学设施,观摩了多个实验教学现场和课堂教学活动。通过身临其境的走访参观,深入了解了特莱恩大学的教育模式及育人特点;尤其是其与我校高度一致的学生本位的教育理念,重视培养学生的创造性思维和实践能力的制度安排和方案系统,以及教学、实验、实训立体交叉一体化的教学模式,乃至师生聚精会神投入教学的专业态度,令人深受启发,获益良多,是我校优化教育教学和管理工作、完善人才培养机制的有益参考。
In the afternoon, accompanied by Wendy Yagodinski, the Chair of Computer Science and Information Technology Faculty, the assistant vice president of Innovation One Jason Blume, and Jenson Jiang, Wang Lei and his delegation undertook a comprehensive tour. The visit encompassed various cutting-edge facilities, including the XR Laboratory, AI/CFD Laboratory, Innovation Manufacturing Laboratory, and the Business School Virtual Golf Laboratory. The delegation also explored classrooms, teacher studios, student dormitories, sports venues, and other teaching facilities across different colleges. During this immersive experience, they observed multiple experimental teaching sites and engaged in classroom teaching activities. These visits provided a profound understanding of the education model and distinctive characteristics of the Trine University. Particularly noteworthy was its highly consistent student-centered education philosophy, aligning closely with our school's approach. The Trine University places significant emphasis on fostering students' creative thinking and practical abilities through well-thought-out institutional arrangements and program systems. The integrated teaching model, encompassing teaching, experimentation, and practical training, along with the dedicated professional attitude exhibited by both teachers and students towards education, proved to be deeply inspiring and beneficial.
