Trine Engineering Institute Achieved New Heights in English Teaching Reform and Academic Competitions
近日，特莱恩工学院英语学科竞赛喜讯连连。
Recently, Trine Engineering Institute has celebrated a series of remarkable achievements in English academic competitions.
我院电气专业2024级学生张熙然和陶怡舟在陕西理工大学第九届大学生英语辩论赛中获得一等奖及最佳辩手，并于4月19日至4月20日代表我校参加第27届“外研社·国才杯”全国大学生英语辩论赛华西地区复赛，来自陕西、四川、河南、甘肃等地区的108支高校代表队，共计214名辩手参赛。比赛采用英国议会制，经过五轮循环赛的激烈角逐，我院两名选手凭借扎实的语言功底、广博的知识储备、缜密的逻辑思维和敏捷的临场应变能力，最终荣获华西赛区总决赛银奖，打破了近年来我校在该赛事中的最好成绩，展现了我院学子的卓越风采。外研社全国大学生英语辩论赛是目前国内规模最大、水平最高的英语口语赛事，在高校中享有盛誉。
Zhang Xiran and Tao Yizhou, 2024-level electrical engineering majors, won first prize and Best Debater at the 9th Shaanxi University of Technology English Debate Competition. From April 19 to 20, they represented our university at the 27th FLTRP·ETIC Cup National English Debating Competition—West China Regional Finals, where 108 teams (214 debaters) from Shaanxi, Sichuan, Henan, Gansu, and other regions competed. Following the British Parliamentary debate format, the two students demonstrated solid language skills, extensive knowledge, rigorous logic, and quick thinking through five intense rounds, ultimately securing the Silver Award in the West China Finals. This achievement marks the best performance by our university in this competition in recent years, showcasing the excellence of our students. The FLTRP National English Debating Competition is the largest and most prestigious English-speaking contest in China, highly regarded among universities.
4月19日，第十四届全国法律英语演讲比赛西北赛区决赛在西北政法大学落下帷幕，本次比赛由来自西北政法大学、西安外国语大学、西安石油大学等200名选手参加，特莱恩工学院网络专业2023级学生石城安凭借卓越的英语表达能力、扎实的法律素养及深刻的思辨能力，从众多高校选手中脱颖而出，荣获西北赛区省级二等奖，充分展现了理工科学子跨学科发展的综合实力。4月25日，特莱恩工学院电气专业2023级学生付婧怡在第30届中国日报社“21世纪杯”全国英语演讲比赛校级决赛中获得三等奖。
On April 19, the Northwest Regional Finals of the 14th National Legal English Speech Competition concluded at Northwest University of Political Science and Law. The event attracted 200 participants from institutions such as Northwest University of Political Science and Law, Xi’an International Studies University, and Xi’an Shiyou University. Shi Cheng’an, a 2023-level cybersecurity major at Trine Engineering Institute, stood out with outstanding English proficiency, solid legal knowledge, and profound critical thinking, earning the Northwest Regional Second Prize. This accomplishment highlights the interdisciplinary strengths of STEM students. On April 25, Fu Jingyi, a 2023-level electrical engineering major, won third prize in the campus finals of the 30th China Daily "21st Century Cup" National English Speech Competition.
特莱恩工学院持续推动“三位一体”英语课程体系，深化英语分层教学改革，协同第一、第二、第三课堂打造“沉浸式”语言社区，开展体验式语言实践。学院始终重视学科交叉与国际化人才培养，以学院英语语言中心为平台，英语课程组通过“外语+专业”课程体系、模拟法庭双语实训、国际学术工作坊等举措，提升学生综合素养；依托“i Talk”英语沙龙、跨国校企合作项目等平台，持续强化学生的语言应用与跨文化能力。
Trine Engineering Institute continues to advance its "Trinity" English curriculum system, deepen stratified English teaching reform, and foster an immersive language community by integrating classroom learning, extracurricular activities, and practical experiences. The institute prioritizes interdisciplinary education and global talent development, leveraging its English Language Center to enhance students' comprehensive abilities through initiatives such as "English + Major" courses, bilingual mock court training, and international academic workshops. Platforms like the "iTalk" English Salon and cross-border industry-academia collaboration projects further strengthen students' language application and intercultural communication skills.
此次突破标志着特莱恩工学院英语教学改革进入新阶段，进一步推动新工科与人文社科融合发展实践，学院将继续深化教育教学改革，以学科竞赛为抓手，形成“以赛导学、以赛促研”的良性生态，激励更多学子以高水平学科竞赛为平台，为培育具有全球竞争力的复合型人才贡献力量。
